About the role
The Department of Biology at UMass Amherst invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Lecturer specializing in Neurobiology.
Essential Functions
- Teach lecture and lab courses in Neurobiology.
- Develop and implement lab curricula or Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs).
- Participate in departmental and institutional service.
- Incorporate evidence-based pedagogical practices.
- Contribute to ongoing discussions on curriculum design, assessment, and educational innovation aligned with Biology Department Learning Goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biology, Neurobiology, or a closely related discipline (by time of hire).
- Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate Biology or Neurobiology in an active learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inclusive course design and modern assessment strategies.
- Proven ability to develop laboratory courses or CUREs.
- Commitment to working effectively with diverse student populations.
