About the role

The Department of Biology at UMass Amherst invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Lecturer specializing in Neurobiology.

Essential Functions

  • Teach lecture and lab courses in Neurobiology.
  • Develop and implement lab curricula or Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs).
  • Participate in departmental and institutional service.
  • Incorporate evidence-based pedagogical practices.
  • Contribute to ongoing discussions on curriculum design, assessment, and educational innovation aligned with Biology Department Learning Goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Neurobiology, or a closely related discipline (by time of hire).
  • Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate Biology or Neurobiology in an active learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with inclusive course design and modern assessment strategies.
  • Proven ability to develop laboratory courses or CUREs.
  • Commitment to working effectively with diverse student populations.
