About the role

The Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences seeks a Lecturer to join the Food and Resource Economics Department within the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses (both on-campus and online) in agricultural economics and agribusiness.
  • Seek contract and grant funding actively to support the teaching program.
  • Engage in scholarly activities related to instruction, including teaching undergraduate courses, advising and mentoring undergraduate students, participating in curriculum revision and enhancement, seeking funding for the teaching program, supervising undergraduate research and creative work, publishing teaching-related scholarship, producing learning tools, and engaging in professional development activities related to teaching and advising.
  • Support and participate in the CALS Honors Program.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree (foreign equivalent acceptable) in agricultural economics or a closely related discipline is required.
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication and interpersonal relationships.
  • A commitment to UF core values.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree (foreign equivalent acceptable) in agricultural economics or a closely related discipline is strongly preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience in person and online.
  • Procurement of extramural funding.
  • Ability to teach courses in agricultural economics and one or more of the following focus areas: agribusiness management, agribusiness financial planning, and machine learning for economists.

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree (foreign equivalent acceptable) in agricultural economics or a closely related discipline is required.
  • A doctoral degree (foreign equivalent acceptable) in agricultural economics or a closely related discipline is strongly preferred, for use of the 'Instructional Assistant Professor' working title.

Benefits

This is a 12-month, full-time, non-tenure-accruing position.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with the education, experience, and qualifications of the selected applicant.

Schedule

The position will be available starting August 16, 2026.
