About the Role
The College of Education at California State University San Marcos invites applications for instructors to teach HHS: Introduction to Personal Health and Wellness, a 3-unit course offered at High Tech High School (San Marcos, California). This is a dual enrolled course offered to high school students for college credit.
Responsibilities
- Introduce the basic principles of health and wellness from a holistic perspective to enhance self-awareness and personal wellness behaviors.
- Cover subjects including mental, emotional, physical and socio-environmental dimensions of health, sexuality and relationships, nutrition and physical fitness, use and abuse of drugs, health care services and current health problems.
Requirements
A master’s degree in kinesiology, public health, human development or other health and wellness related disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in higher education.
- Experience working with high school students.
