Lecturer - Finance

About the role

The Department of Accounting and Finance in the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for a 9-month instructor position in Finance for the academic year 2026-27.

Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in financial planning and finance.
• Mentor students in the “transcripts to resumes” program.
• Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank.
• Perform institutional and community service.
• Contribute to ongoing program development within the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business.
• Participate fully in the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business’ AACSB accreditation efforts.

Requirements

• Doctorate/ABD status from an institution supporting an AACSB accredited business school, or Master’s Degree in Finance or Business with a specialization in Finance plus 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching.
• Evidence of engagement in institutional, community, and professional endeavors.

Qualifications

• Doctorate/ABD status from an institution supporting an AACSB accredited business school, or Master’s Degree in Finance or Business with a specialization in Finance plus 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching.
• Evidence of engagement in institutional, community, and professional endeavors.

Skills

• University-level teaching experience.
• CFA designations.
• Knowledge of and experience using finance and capital market software (e.g. Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, or FactSet).
• The ability to teach a variety of classes in the Finance curriculum.
• Engagement in institutional, community, and professional service.
• Experience working in the world of business.

Benefits

Competitive compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Schedule

The home campus of this position is Green Bay and the successful candidate may occasionally be required to teach a course or work at the Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus, based on operational needs. Courses will be taught both face-to-face and online (in asynchronous and synchronous formats). The specific courses taught may vary from semester to semester.
