About the role

The Lecturer (Education Focused) – School of Population Health role is based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. This is a 3-year fixed term contract part-time position (21 hours per week).

Responsibilities

  • Drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.
  • Deliver engaging learning experiences and develop contemporary resources.
  • Support diverse student cohorts to achieve strong academic and employability outcomes.
  • Contribute to advancing teaching practices, leveraging educational technologies, and fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic academic community to shape the educational experience of postgraduate students.

Requirements

  • A PhD in Biostatistics or a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Capacity to teach using First Nations culturally capable approaches, or willingness to develop this capability.
  • Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g., relevant discipline-based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales).
  • Design and develop learning activities and resources, and assessment and feedback using a range of suitable approaches and learning environments.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
