About the role
The Lecturer (Education Focused) – School of Population Health role is based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. This is a part-time position (21 hours per week) with a 3-year fixed term contract. The remuneration includes a base salary of $133,065 pro rata, plus 17% superannuation and leave loading.
Responsibilities
- Drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.
- Deliver engaging learning experiences and develop contemporary resources.
- Support diverse student cohorts to achieve strong academic and employability outcomes.
- Contribute to advancing teaching practices, leveraging educational technologies, and fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with a dynamic academic community to enhance the educational experience of postgraduate students.
Requirements
- A PhD in Biostatistics or a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Capacity to teach using First Nations culturally capable approaches, or willingness to develop this capability.
- Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g., relevant discipline-based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales).
- Design and develop learning activities and resources, and assessment and feedback using a range of suitable approaches and learning environments.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Biostatistics or a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience. They will also demonstrate experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, and possess the capacity to teach using First Nations culturally capable approaches, or willingness to develop this capability. Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods is also required.
