Lecturer - Business 324: Introduction to Business Analytics (Fall 2026, Mt. San Jacinto College Campus, Temecula)

The Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach a section of BUS 324: Introduction to Business Analytics.

Course Description

This course introduces business analytics concepts and tools that are used in various business functions. Consists of two distinct parts: predictive and prescriptive modeling/analytics. The predictive analytics section covers the use of statistical data in order to understand and solve business problems. Subjects include a review of descriptive statistics tools, hypothesis testing, ANOVA and simple/multiple regression analysis. Statistical data-mining models are also discussed. The prescriptive analytics section covers deterministic optimization models. Statistical software and spreadsheet optimization are introduced.

Minimum Qualifications

• A master's degree in business administration or a related discipline
• Active current industry experience in an analytics-related position
• Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• A doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant field
• Previous teaching experience at a four-year university and/or community college
• Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.

Pay

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month

Schedule

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
