Position Overview
The Leasing Professional is primarily responsible for showing apartment homes, assisting with local marketing, and following up with prospects. This role involves customer service and communication with both residents and fellow employees. Additional responsibilities include preparing lease agreements and coordinating resident events. The Leasing Professional works alongside the Neighborhood Manager and the maintenance team to provide the best resident experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct apartment home tours to potential prospects
- Answer phone calls and emails
- Maintain knowledge of neighborhood specials, pricing, and notify related parties of any needed adjustments
- Schedule resident appointments to discuss renewal rates and leasing options
- Walk through units prior to resident move‑in date
- Complete move‑in paperwork
- Complete all lease applications and notify prospective residents
- Ensure grounds are well kept and address any concerns with maintenance
- Adhere to company standards for paperwork, resident files, budgets, and controlled expenses
- Travel between Redwood neighborhoods may be required
- Perform all other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- General computer efficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior sales or leasing experience
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to operate smartphone, tablet, and computers
Physical Requirements
- Use standard office equipment such as computers, cell phones, desk phones, and photocopiers
- Manual dexterity for keyboard use, mobile device use, and general office tasks
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and navigate stairs throughout the workday, including during neighborhood tours or building access needs
- Lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 30 pounds (marketing materials, small equipment, office supplies)
- Safely move throughout indoor units, common areas, and outdoor neighborhood spaces, including uneven surfaces or varying flooring types
Attendance & Scheduling
- Punctuality and consistent attendance are essential; employees must adhere to assigned schedules
- Reliable transportation required to attend periodic meetings or respond to occasional onsite needs
- Occasional travel may be required for team outings, training sessions, or company‑sponsored events outside of the primary work location (estimated at less than 5 % annually)
Work Environment
- Work performed in both office and field environments, including model units, residential units, and outdoor areas
- Exposure to typical indoor office conditions, variable temperatures, and a mix of natural and standard lighting
- Regular exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, snow, and damp environments
- May occasionally encounter low‑level noise from landscaping, maintenance activities, or equipment
