About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the secondary specialist provision for young people with identified Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Support students across a range of ages, abilities, and emotional needs, working in both 1:1 and small-group settings to help them re-engage with learning in a structured, safe, and supportive environment.
  • Respond to students' needs with patience and empathy, supporting their academic engagement, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Ensure the school experience is as productive, safe, and beneficial as possible.

Requirements

  • Understand or experience working with vulnerable young people and those with learning or behavior difficulties.
  • Flexible to meet the changing demands of a busy school day.
  • Organise and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A good attention to detail.
  • An enthusiastic approach to work.

Qualifications

An understanding or experience of working with vulnerable young people and those with learning or behavior difficulties is essential.

Pay

Band D of the Support Staff Spine (£25,583 - £25,989 FTE, Actual Salary £22,237 - £22,590)

Schedule

Full Time, Term Time Only (37hpw, 8 – 4 Monday – Thursday and 8 – 3.30 Friday) + 2 INSET Days
