Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction in both individual and small group modalities
- Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of individualized goals and the maintenance of special education paperwork
- Work in conjunction with a program-dedicated Social Worker to meet student social-emotional and educational needs
- Consult, collaboration, and coordination with all team members regarding services
- Consult with team members on curriculum modifications and accommodations based on learning needs
- Provide staff with resources, tools, and in-class recommendations related to students' needs
- Develop Individual Education Plans, transition plans, measurable goals, and appropriate accommodations/modifications
- Successfully experience teaching students who have a variety of educational disabilities
- Provide consultative services to parents, teachers, and other educational personnel
- Responsible for coordination of home and school communication regarding educational programming when appropriate
- Able to ensure accurate data collection and analysis
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary team in the development of student programming
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Must be certified as a Special Education Teacher (1900)
- At least three or more years of experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of Special Education Law
- Preferred: Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Certification (1833)
- Knowledge and experience in a Multi-Tier System of Support (MTSS)
- Knowledge and experience in Competency-Based Grading
- Experience in a co-teaching model
