Learning Mentor (Full-Time)

About the role

Supporting autistic pupils and those with complex SEND needs by providing personalised, consistent assistance to promote learning, confidence, independence, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in accessing learning and developing social, emotional, and behavioral skills
• Act as a positive role model and build trusting relationships
• Prepare resources and assist with classroom and practical activities
• Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to implement therapeutic, pupil-centered approaches
• Support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
• Encourage engagement in learning and promote wellbeing
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and provide feedback

Requirements

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Experience working in a SEND setting, preferably supporting autistic pupils
• Resilience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
• Strong commitment to professional standards and continuous improvement
