About the role
Supporting autistic pupils and those with complex SEND needs by providing personalised, consistent assistance to promote learning, confidence, independence, and emotional well-being.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils in accessing learning and developing social, emotional, and behavioral skills
- Act as a positive role model and build trusting relationships
- Prepare resources and assist with classroom and practical activities
- Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to implement therapeutic, pupil-centered approaches
- Support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Encourage engagement in learning and promote wellbeing
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and provide feedback
Requirements
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Experience working in a SEND setting, preferably supporting autistic pupils
- Resilience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
- Strong commitment to professional standards and continuous improvement
