Learning Manager - Partnership
About the role
The Learning Manager: Partnerships is responsible for designing, managing and strengthening strategic learning partnerships that build organisational capability, leadership effectiveness, regulatory compliance and future-fit skills across RMA. The role drives collaboration with internal stakeholders, academic institutions, industry bodies, professional associations, SETAs, training providers, and strategic partners to create impactful learning solutions aligned to RMA's strategic objectives as a social insurer. The incumbent will lead the development of a sustainable learning ecosystem that supports the administration of COIDA, Life Insurance products, AIT Administration, digital transformation, customer excellence, data-driven decision-making, and leadership succession while enhancing employee growth and organisational performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strategic learning partnerships
- Negotiate agreements, funding opportunities and collaborative initiatives
- Maximize learning investments and return on learning expenditure
- Establish capability development pathways aligned to business needs
- Support leadership development and succession planning
- Drive critical skills development initiatives
- Oversee end-to-end learning programme delivery
- Ensure effective programme governance and quality assurance
- Measure effectiveness and business impact
- Maximize SETA grants and learning funding opportunities
- Ensure BBBEE Learning and Skills Development compliance
- Monitor legislative and regulatory learning requirements
- Establish graduate, internship and leadership pipeline partnerships
- Support workforce planning requirements
- Build future talent pipelines for scarce and critical skills
- Monitor learning effectiveness and return on investment
- Produce executive dashboards and insights
- Provide recommendations to improve organisational capability
- Lead, coach and mentor direct reports
- Ensure achievement of departmental objectives
- Foster continuous improvement and innovation
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Organisational Psychology, Education, Business Management or related field
- Postgraduate Qualification in HR, Learning, Leadership Development, Business Administration or Organisational Development (Preferred)
- Registered Assessor and/or Moderator Certification (Advantageous)
- Project Management Qualification (Advantageous)
- Coaching Qualification (Advantageous)
- 5 - 10 years Learning & Development experience
- Minimum 2 - 3 years in a management role
- Proven experience managing strategic learning partnerships
- Experience within Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare Funding, or related regulated industries
- Strong stakeholder management and executive engagement experience
- Experience managing SETA initiatives and learning governance frameworks
- Demonstrated experience in leadership development, talent development and organisational capability building
- Experience managing learning technologies and analytics
