About the role
The Partnerships team is central to Akur8's revenue growth in North America. As the new Partnerships Manager, reporting to our Head of Corporate Development and Partnership, you will help grow and maintain our business across the US and Canada. Based either in New York or Montreal, you will play a key role in building the partner network that supports Akur8’s growth in the North American insurance market.
The role focuses on developing relationships with system integrators, Big Four firms, solution vendors, and actuarial consulting firms. You will manage a portfolio of strategic partners, work closely with Account Executives on active opportunities, and create joint initiatives that generate new business and strengthen Akur8’s position in the market.
You will combine relationship management with commercial ownership. From executive engagement and joint pipeline reviews to partner training and co-marketing initiatives, you will help partners understand Akur8’s value and bring it to more insurance organizations.
Responsibilities
- Own Akur8’s partner relationships across the US and Canada, managing day-to-day collaboration with Big 4 firms, system integrators, solution vendors, and executive-level stakeholders.
- Build clear engagement plans with strategic partners, including regular check-ins, executive-sponsored go-to-market sessions, and joint pipeline reviews.
- Work with Marketing and key partners to develop joint campaigns and events that create qualified pipelines.
- Partner with Account Executives throughout active sales cycles.
- Identify and win opportunities where a system integrator will support implementation, ensuring Akur8 is involved early in the sales process.
- Coordinate partner training and certification programs with Akur8’s Actuarial Data Science and Solution Delivery teams to ensure partners stay current on product developments and maintain high standards of usage.
- Develop new relationships with system integrators and other relevant firms in the US insurance market.
The position will require traveling for insurance industry events, partner meetings, and joint customer activities across North America.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in partnerships, alliances, or business development, either on the partner/consulting side or on the vendor side within the insurance space for a product that required system integrator involvement at implementation.
- Experience managing several executive-level relationships at large professional services firms or system integrators, with a track record of building joint go-to-market commitments between vendors and partners.
- A strong understanding of the US insurance market and its key players.
- Comfort owning commercial outcomes, whether through a direct quota or close collaboration with an Account Executive.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to maintain momentum across long relationship cycles.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Enthusiasm for technology and the ability to speak credibly about software products with both technical and business audiences.
