Responsibilities
- Advises and assists trainers on course evaluation results.
- Collaborates with others to plan and design courses and curricula; ensures accuracy of content and tests multimedia elements.
- Conducts needs assessment on request from business unit management to provide customized training or individual guidance to improve and develop performance.
- Creates and edits new LMS learning activities; sets up required training assignments in LMS; creates custom LMS reports.
- Develops dynamic instructional and training materials using current technologies including references and support tools that reinforce training, increase efficiency, and help produce error-free work.
- Develops classroom, online, and/or independent learning program content that transfers knowledge effectively and brings about desired behavior change.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of courses, learning products, and delivery methods to ensure that the desired learning objectives and goals are achieved.
- Selects most effective instructional approaches including a blend of instructor-led and/or self-directed techniques.
- Selects, modifies, or establishes a design and development model appropriate for a given project; analyzes learning needs to assist in establishing learning objectives.
- Trains internal team members on effective use of classroom materials including ILT and VILT and environments.
- Validates and integrates feedback, assessments, and course evaluations into current and new training course content and/or delivery vehicle.
- Conducts presentations for various groups including executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Ability to adapt to fluctuating work-flow.
- Experience in evaluating the effectiveness of courses and learning products and delivery methods.
- Experience in researching/writing course content and/or developing courses, demonstrations, graphic designs, and other technology-driven products.
- Advanced knowledge of instructional theories, educational psychology, educational theory, tools, and resources.
- Working knowledge of instructional design to develop courses for products, processes, and/or skills.
- Desired - Experience in multi-media training.
- Desired - Working knowledge of client's products, services, programs, policies, and procedures.
- Advanced skill to successfully influence, lead, and/or guide others towards goals.
- Effective database and presentation software skills.
- Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective skill capturing and translating processes and requirements into easily understood terms.
- Effective skill collaborating with various external and internal technical and/or functional contacts.
- Effective skill communicating with all levels within an organization.
- Effective skill in assessing organizational training needs and researching topics for course development.
- Effective skill in building strategic and execution-focused plans and alliances with partner leadership.

- Bachelor's Degree in Education, business, communication, behavioral sciences, training development, or related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
About the Role
Plan and manage instructional design projects and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization. Develop instructional courses tailored to meet the desired learning outcomes and needs of Navy Federal and the learners. Collaborate to implement strategies for educating and training employees to achieve higher levels of performance. Utilize a variety of techniques to define and sequence instructional content and strategies. Create curricula by quickly and efficiently learning/processing large volumes of information and by conducting research on subject matter. Remain supportive of business unit/organizational training needs and refresh the training and materials as needed throughout its lifecycle.
