About the Role
The Learning and Development Coordinator for the Education and Vocation Division will facilitate the division’s training objectives and training compliance by maintaining records of and schedules for employee training.
Responsibilities
- Organize and coordinate training sessions; reserve space, ensure audiovisual equipment is available and operating, distribute materials such as handouts and quizzes, and handle related logistics.
- Maintain records of attendance and successful completion of training.
- Develop or assist with development of and maintain a division-specific training calendar; track required initial and refresher training schedules.
- Research and evaluate training products, review samples, demonstrations, and website content, and suggest additions or enhancements to the division’s training library.
- Partner with supervisors within the division to support their teams’ training access, coordination needs, and compliance reporting needs.
- Customize and deliver training-related communication based on the division’s communication plan.
- Support the division’s collaborative work group and other training staff with their assigned duties.
- Provide support to training participants in virtual instructor-led and classroom training as directed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Performance Objectives for FY26-FY27
- Leadership Outreach: During the first two months, connect with Vice Presidents within the various Education program divisions to determine their training communication preferences, staff access to spaces and technology for learning, and top training scheduling priorities. Create a plan for consistent and proactive outreach based on each division's training mandates and goals.
- Coordination Workflow: Within the first three months, work with Education CPO and leadership to create a calendar/schedule establishing a balanced distribution of time across program divisions. Assist staff in becoming proficient with tools and templates used in learning and development coordination, including:
- Learning management system participant registration
- Survey tool(s)
- Microsoft Outlook templates and groups
- Zoom registration
- PDF signature and workflow
- Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Team Collaboration: During the first two months, meet with members of the Mission and Learning team and key contacts in other support divisions. Demonstrate initiative to help others, learn colleagues’ communication preferences and working styles, anticipate and communicate potential workflow and collaboration problems, and use humble inquiry to build collaborative work relationships.
- Service and Support: Assist program leadership in identifying challenges in completing mandatory trainings and implement a schedule and tools to help staff complete training within the first three months. Provide continuous support to program leadership in creating new and improving current trainings to enhance job performance and overall program impact (partnering with Education specialists and other staff who work on staff development trainings).
- Culture: Support establishing and strengthening a culture of learning and development in the Education Division.
Performance objectives may shift based on program needs.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree required.
- At least two years of experience in a related field highly desired.

- Ability to use public transportation for travel to program locations throughout New York City.
