Learning and Development Intern

About the role

Gordon Food Service offers a 12‑week paid internship program at its Home Office that provides firsthand experience on meaningful projects, mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities across the business. Interns work alongside industry professionals, attend unique networking events, engage in a mentorship program, shadow jobs across the organization, participate in community and stewardship efforts, develop personal and professional skills through workshops (communication, LinkedIn, presenting, etc.), and gain hands‑on experience using and developing intelligent systems as part of a team that treats AI as a core collaborator.

Responsibilities

• Build Connections – collaborate with the Learning and Development team and peers in Communications, Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, IT, Marketing & Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Sales.
• Build a Career – help create, edit, format, and update training materials, presentations, and digital learning modules; support trainers with session preparation, event logistics, and attendee feedback collection; assist with data, templates, and notes for performance calibration meetings; participate in GFS succession planning (updating tracking sheets, pipeline data, supporting meetings).
• Build the Future – attend networking opportunities, engage in mentorship, shadow jobs across the organization, participate in community and stewardship efforts, develop skills through workshops, and work directly with an AI‑focused team to gain experience using and developing intelligent systems for real‑world business impact.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
