Description Summary

The Lean Construction Coordinator for Interstates supports the company's mission of being a customer's competitive advantage by managing materials, coordinating construction practices, and serving as a liaison between Van Meter and Interstates. This role requires adherence to safety policies, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Adhere to all company safety policies and initiatives
  • Complete returns for parts and tools from the jobsite
  • Maintain jobsite inventory
  • Complete parts and tools requests through ordering, receiving, and shipping
  • Conduct product and tool cleaning, inspection, and storage at the jobsite
  • Work closely with Inside Sales and Purchasing
  • Provide customer service and support as the main point of contact between Van Meter and Interstates
  • Set up and relocate fabrication stations/areas
  • Clean, stock, and remove excess material from work areas
  • Deliver parts and tools to needed areas of jobsite
  • Receive and distribute deliveries as needed
  • Keep Connex and laydown yard clean and orderly
  • Clean, charge, and/or fuel lifts and generators
  • Perform general jobsite housekeeping
  • Assemble lights and other assemblies before installation
  • Take part in keeping office and break trailers clean and orderly
  • Responsible for managing expenses associated with travel and working in the field
  • General help with crew members when needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous distribution center experience preferred
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs. consistently
  • Ability to operate lift truck equipment
  • Ability to work extended shifts
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Knowledge of Eclipse
  • Knowledge of handheld RF scanner (preferred)
  • Forklift operating experience
  • Deployment to jobsites throughout the United States for extended periods (minimum 2 years commitment)

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Consistently standing, walking, lifting, and working indoors
  • Frequently carrying, pushing, bending at the waist, twisting upper body, reaching, working with hands and fingers, vision acuity near and far, depth perception, color vision, team lifting, working with others
  • Sometimes sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, driving, works alone, non-standard work shift, extended day, humid, noise, works outdoors, and mechanical hazards
  • Occasionally crawling, customer contact, wet, vibration, confined area, high places, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and poor ventilation

Pay

TBD based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Extended day, non-standard work shift.
