About the Role

As a Senior Developer at Direct Meds, you will own end-to-end delivery of scoped work on a healthcare-adjacent SaaS platform built on a Laravel stack. This includes building, testing, reviewing, and shipping features with a focus on quality and security. You will turn ambiguous problems into clear plans, make design and risk decisions, review teammates' code, and proactively flag dependencies and edge cases. Communication of status and blockers is expected early and often.

• Independent Fractional CTO & Technical Partner: Provided architecture, team leadership, and pragmatic AI integration for founder-led startups. Practice concluded in July 2026 with a transition to this full-time senior engineering role.
• Vertical Martech Platform for Accounting Firms: Built on the WebsitesPros platform, this fractional engagement concluded in July 2026.
• Marketing Agency (Founded by Eugen): Led technical strategy and execution in a fractional capacity, concluding in July 2026.
• Multi-Tenant Martech SaaS: Built solo, end-to-end, with per-tenant database isolation. Self-funded with no outside investment, powering five paying B2B SaaS licensees and vertical offerings like FirmPlus and Growth100.
• Two-Sided Marketplace (After5): Connected senior software professionals with teams needing flexible capacity, functioning as a distributed-engineering operation before fully-remote teams became standard. Brand wound down in May 2026, but long-running client relationships continue under the Fractional CTO practice.
• Platform Transformation at Spear Education: Co-led a multi-year transformation involving three parallel migrations under live production load without service interruption. Extracted 8 Laravel microservices, including auth (JWT + OAuth), courses (Vue + Nuxt SSR), e-commerce (NetSuite integration), multi-engine search (Algolia + Elasticsearch), and a public API platform serving iOS, Android, Apple TV, and Roku apps. Authored the zero-downtime deployment system and retained as a part-time contractor for 3.5 years to ensure continuity.
• MIHV (Consulting & Contracting): Served as a vehicle for a decade of independent software work, including custom development, architecture, and AWS engagements for startups and growing businesses in martech, lead generation, fintech, education, and SaaS. Brand retired in 2021, with client relationships transitioning to the WebsitesPros platform model. MIHV remains the active legal entity behind the Fractional CTO practice.
• LeadPile (Financial-Services Lead Marketplace): Bootstrapped from zero to ~$10M peak annual revenue without outside funding. Pioneered real-time ping-post bidding and multi-step micro-form widgets, both later becoming industry standards. Acquired in July 2010 by LeadPile’s largest financial-services advertiser-client.
• Loan Origination Platform: Lead developer for a proprietary lead-management system used daily by 50+ loan officers, supporting the company’s loan origination operations.
