About the role

The successful candidate will lead a team of teachers in implementing the English (Language and Literacy), HASS (History, Geography, Economics and Business Studies), and Cross Disciplinary programs at Willunga High School. They will be responsible for curriculum development, staff professional learning, and student engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that enhance student learning outcomes in English (Language and Literacy), HASS (History, Geography, Economics and Business Studies), and Cross Disciplinary areas.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver professional learning opportunities that support staff growth and development.
  • Engage students in interdisciplinary projects that foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to ensure academic success and personal growth.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives aimed at improving educational practices and student outcomes.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant teaching experience at the senior leadership level.
  • A proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience in curriculum development and implementation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders including students, parents, and community members.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education or related field.
  • Valid teaching qualification.
  • Knowledge of current educational research and best practices.
