About the role
WSP Water has a career opportunity for a Lead Water / Wastewater Engineer to join our full-service Design Center team in Phoenix, AZ. This is a great opportunity for a Senior Engineer to expand project management skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering services in support of planning, studies, analysis, and design of water treatment and distribution systems, as well as wastewater collection and treatment systems.
- Develop scope, costs, budgets and schedules for studies, design and construction services related to water & wastewater projects, including pipelines, pump stations & treatment plant works.
- Create detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment, water conveyance systems and wastewater collection systems.
- Setup and perform hydraulic modeling for water and sewer systems.
- Work with CAD designers to prepare plans/drawings for water and wastewater infrastructure systems using industry-standard design platforms, such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, etc.
- Use CAD software to prepare detailed designs.
- Check design computations and quantity estimates.
- Aid in client contact and communications pertaining to specific projects.
- Occasional field work and travel to project sites may be required. Approximately 5% overnight travel.
Requirements
- BS degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related engineering degree.
- MS is a plus.
- PE required; AZ PE preferred.
- 10 years + of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated engineering experience in small or large sized, multi-disciplined water/wastewater projects, including responsibility for client interactions.
- Proficiency in detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment, water conveyance systems and wastewater collection systems.
- Successful engineering project delivery with respect to scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
- Senior Engineer positioned to add project management to their responsibilities. Project management experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously.
- Excellent, clear and concise, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate meetings, conduct effective client presentations & prepare written reports.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, hardworking, and intent on doing great work.
- Ability and willingness to travel for client meetings, or project field sites. Approximately 5% overnight travel.
Qualifications
- Pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policy.
Skills

Pay
Expected Salary (Colorado only): $111,200 - $198,220
