Water/Wastewater Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design systems to safely, efficiently, and effectively transport drinking water and/or wastewater to and from end users, including pumping and storage projects
• Avoidance of flooding and storm water management
• Assessment of drinking water and wastewater treatment system needs based on population and development demands
• Analyzing and recommending water and wastewater treatment technologies
• Designing and developing specifications for pumping and force main systems
• Collaborating with contractors and government agencies regarding construction of assigned projects
• Ensuring design and equipment specifications comply with applicable guidelines and codes
• Conducting feasibility and related studies regarding water and wastewater collection, treatment, or distribution
• Providing technical support and subject matter expertise on water resources related issues
• Conducting cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects
• Participating in RFPs, presentations, and scoping projects

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• Experience in designing water treatment plants
• Experience managing projects and clients
• Ability to lead junior staff and participate in all aspects of multi-discipline water/wastewater projects
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative
• Detail-oriented team player with a positive work environment
