About the Role
Leads waitstaff, sets up and assembles various foods to be served to residents, and ensures meals are presented in an attractive, professional manner. Oversees and assists other waitstaff, trains them on proper service steps and customer service skills, and participates in menu Showtime presentations.
Responsibilities
- Assign and lead waitstaff to complete preparatory and post-service assignments in a timely manner.
- Work with the team to complete side work.
- Participate in menu Showtime and present it to residents clearly and courteously.
- Train staff on how to present the menu to residents.
- Wait on tables promptly and ensure resident needs are met accurately.
- Host or wait tables to provide the best service for residents.
- Interact with residents, families, and coworkers professionally.
- Report to work on time in proper uniform (clean shirt, apron, name tag, black slacks, non-slip shoes, and a pen).
- Ensure all waitstaff are in proper uniforms before they go on the floor during Showtime.
- Attend all mandatory education events and help lead training for waitstaff.
- Communicate respectfully, openly, and honestly with team members and supervisors.
- Recognize and appreciate the contributions of team members and customers.
- Create eye contact, smile, and greet residents by name whenever possible.
- Demonstrate willingness to assist customers and team members beyond primary duties.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Some high school education.
- Experience as waitstaff.
- Knowledge of dining room systems and strong communication skills.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Continuous standing, walking, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, and carrying/lifting.
- Ability to handle stress related to customer satisfaction.
