About the role

As a Waiter/Waitress at The Smith Center of Performing Arts, you will take food and beverage orders and efficiently deliver items to dining room guests while providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room; take food and beverage orders in an efficient manner, following established steps of service.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally; maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards.
• Follow up periodically to assist with any additional guest needs or requests.
• Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients; advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations when requested.
• Accommodate reasonable requests, note preferences, and demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens.
• Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
• Exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain flexibility and patience when interacting with guests and staff.
• Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
• Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
• Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared by guests.
• Promptly address complaints or issues; relay relevant information or complaints directly to a supervisor.
• Ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period; keep the area clean and meet established sanitation standards.
• Operate a variety of equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
• Work with staff from other departments to perform job duties during special events and functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay

$13 per hour
