Lead, UX Design
About the role
The Lead UX Designer will guide the design of critical consumer experiences across Resmed's digital portfolio, focusing particularly on the flagship consumer-facing app myAir. This role involves bringing together product, engineering, and design disciplines to create seamless, human-centered experiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead an ambitious user-centered experience strategy.
- Own the digital experience pipeline, launching initiatives that move the business closer to its ideal state.
- Lead design across multiple product teams, advocating for user needs and inspiring bold solutions.
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and other teams like Industrial Design, Marketing, and Experience Insights to create cohesive experiences.
- Map experience ambitions over time with a clear implementation strategy.
- Anticipate changing user behaviors and digital solution landscapes to inform experience direction.
- Facilitate alignment and buy-in across cross-functional teams coordinating efforts to enact the strategy.
- Facilitate discovery workshops, design sprints, and ideation sessions that drive clarity and alignment.
- Manage prioritization, interdependencies, conflicts, and trade-offs.
- Craft design artifacts such as journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and flows that bring ideas to life.
- Rapidly iterate concepts based on user research and technical input.
- Craft and champion the company's global design system and design best practices.
- Mentor and coach other designers, helping them grow in craft and confidence.
Requirements
This role requires a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design methods and artifacts, 8+ years of UX design experience in fast-paced, agile environments, fluency with modern design and prototyping tools, deep knowledge of user-centered design principles and practices, proven success delivering intuitive, delightful products informed by research, excellent communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills, ability to balance multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative setting, and willingness to travel up to 10%. Additional qualifications include experience planning and leading user research, familiarity with lean experimentation and innovation methods, background in healthcare or medical devices, and exposure to AI/ML-powered product experiences.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or equivalent experience is preferred.
