Carlson Tool & Manufacturing Corp. is looking for an experienced Tool Maker with a desire to lead and mentor others to join our talented team of 70+ skilled Machinists and Toolmakers in our climate-controlled, advanced manufacturing facilities located in Cedarburg, WI.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in the design, build, refurbishment, and reverse engineering of plastic injection molds that serve industries like Automotive, Medical, Plastic Packaging, Battery, and beyond.
• Guide projects through the shop without the need to write plans or purchase material.
• Focus on toolmaking while providing hands-on direction to fellow Tool Makers and mentoring apprentices.
• Collaborate with project leader(s) and direct our team of Tool Makers.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and hands-on training to apprentices and team members.
• Analyze specifications, set up and operate machine tools, and fit/assemble components to fabricate and repair metalworking dies.
• Lead plastic injection mold builds from start to finish.
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker is required.
• Proven expertise in Plastic Injection Molds is required.
• The ability to train and mentor others is required.
• The ability to read, interpret, and analyze engineering designs and CAD models.
• The ability to analyze specifications, set up and operate machine tools, and fit/assemble components to fabricate and repair metalworking dies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a drug screening.

Skills

• Experience with plastic injection molding processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
