Key Responsibilities
- Leads shop team members, mentors and motivates team members ensuring productivity.
- Facilitates team operations through the sharing of information and knowledge, identification of teamwork issues, encouraging suggestions, development of problem-solving recommendations, and recommendations of standardizing team.
- Makes sure team members are trained as needed or required.
- Prepares work flow and team member schedules.
- Works cooperatively with all departments to ensure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times.
- Notifies supervisor of operating and/or employee issues.
- Collects and submits reports specific to team data as requested.
- Keeps records of departmental activities.
- Ensures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
- Serves as a resource and content expert to team members; providing them with guidance and being available to answer questions to clarify the work activities.
- Relays or helps team members with new or revised policies, procedures and /or processes to team members to ensure they have the most up-to-date and current information.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years tooling experience.
- Tool and die certification.
- Ability to read and interpret regulations and policies in accordance with Company guidelines.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively enforce applicable regulations and policies.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Able to train and motivate department personnel.
- Able to work flexible hours depending upon the needs of the department.
- Able to travel if needed.
