Responsibilities
- Process a variety of financial transactions for members, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and account inquiries, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide excellent service to members, addressing questions and resolving issues related to BayPort Credit Union’s products and services.
- Oversee the management of the vault, ensuring proper handling of currency received and disbursed, as well as negotiable and non-negotiable instruments.
- Order, send, and verify cash shipments to and from the Federal Reserve, ensuring compliance with regulatory limits.
- Maintain accurate cash inventories and perform cash audits as required.
- Supervise the teller staff, providing guidance and support during daily operations.
- Assist with teller scheduling, coordinating work assignments, and ensuring a professional and consistent approach on the teller line.
- Conduct monthly one-on-one coaching sessions with tellers, documenting performance in accordance with credit union procedures.
- Evaluate teller performance and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Handle complex member complaints, transaction inquiries, and corrections or adjustments.
- Resolve any discrepancies in teller cash drawers or vaults, reviewing out-of-balance conditions and taking appropriate action.
- Perform opening and closing procedures for the branch, ensuring all cash, documents, and equipment are secured and accounted for.
- Maintain the security of branch cash and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Educate members about products and services that meet their financial needs, contributing to sales goals set by the credit union.
- Keep supervisors informed of any concerns or issues impacting branch operations or member service.
- Participate in branch and all-staff meetings to stay current on organizational issues, promotions, policies, and compliance matters.
- Attend ongoing training to improve job knowledge, service delivery, and leadership skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned by branch management to ensure the smooth functioning of branch operations and the highest level of member satisfaction.
Requirements
- Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or financial services training preferred.
- Required Experience: Previous experience in banking, financial services, or cash handling required; supervisory or leadership experience a plus.
- Preferred Experience: Previous Senior Teller or Lead Teller is preferred.
