About the role
As a Lead Technician you will install, service, and support sales of intrusion, access-control, and video-management systems. You will work directly with clients, client representatives, third-party vendors, and our Program management team throughout the installation process.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, and troubleshoot new access-control, intrusion, and CCTV systems on schedule while following best-practice procedures and quality-control standards.
- Pull cable, rough-in conduit, terminate cables at devices and head-end.
- Identify timeline or progress issues and communicate them to your supervisor.
- Stay current on new services, technology, and internal processes.
- Service and maintain systems at client locations.
- Ensure installations and service orders are completed successfully, on time, and meet or exceed client expectations.
Requirements
- Three or more years’ experience installing commercial access-control, video systems, low-voltage wiring, and commercial cabling or knowledge of building, fire, and life-safety codes related to construction and electrical systems.
- High-school diploma or GED preferred; technical/trade/vocational certificate in electronics or electrical is desirable.
- Strong electronics background (AC/DC theory, series and parallel circuits, open/closed loops) and ability to use digital volt meters.
- Knowledge of IP, Ethernet, and networking protocols; CAT5 experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain state-required certifications, licenses, or registrations in accordance with electronic-security regulations.
- Willingness to submit to and pass the company’s pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
- Safe driving record and valid driver’s license to meet travel requirements (25 % travel).
Pay
$27–$35.00 per hour.
