The Lead Technician I leads each phase of mitigation and/or environmental projects from initiation to completion, reporting directly to the Supervisor and potentially co-managed by the Project Manager and/or Branch Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular communications with key stakeholders (Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager, Supervisor, and Project Coordinator) to discuss project schedules, scope changes, materials, and personnel resources.
  • Perform tasks to expedite job completion, including ordering and picking up materials, moving client contents, and performing high-quality repairs adhering to code regulations and industry standards.
  • Lead a small group of technicians, providing supervision and direction based on defined job parameters.
  • Maintain company-assigned vehicle and restock supplies as necessary.
  • Complete and submit crew sheets and job notes at the end of each day.
  • Serve as a role model in following and enforcing company policies and safety procedures.
  • Assist in the development of technicians through mentoring, coaching, and skill-building.
  • Conduct jobsite safety briefings and provide training within the scope of knowledge.
  • Complete timecards accurately and ensure crew members do the same.
  • Submit completed work orders, including measurements, moisture readings, and detailed paperwork for billing.
  • Maintain trade skills through regular company-provided training.
  • Build knowledge of company services, operations, and standard practices to support professional growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-year experience in a lead technician role in construction and/or restoration/mitigation, or equivalent experience as a Tech III.
  • Valid Driver’s License (Class C) with a clean driving record; must be insurable.
  • Understanding of safety guidelines and ability to enforce them with the crew.
  • Awareness of company handbook, policies, and SOPs; ability to apply and communicate them.
  • Experience developing technicians through demonstration, encouragement, and growth opportunities.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
  • Continuous growth mindset, open to feedback, and ability to teach others.
  • Strong grasp of the English language (reading, writing, verbal). Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to pass a respirator physical and obtain a respiratory fit exam.
  • Ability to interpret and apply basic instructions (e.g., Material Data Sheets).
  • Industry certifications preferred; ability to pass medical exams if required for certification.

Working Conditions

  • Repetitive left/right hand motion (use of hand and power tools).
  • Physical agility: bending, squatting, crawling, climbing stairs/ladders, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead or downward.
  • Frequent lifting of heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to work in confined and unsanitary conditions regularly.
  • Required overtime for scheduled work, after-hours response, and weekend availability.

Pay

$22.51 - $28.14 hourly (DOE)
