Lead Teacher – Toddler (Ages 2-3)
Overview
Family Centers’ Early Care and Education program seeks a highly qualified, passionate, professional educator to join our team as a Lead Toddler Teacher.
Responsibilities
- Lead classroom staff and volunteers while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally-appropriate environment in compliance with program and licensing standards
- Plan and implement curriculum aligned with Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies Gold, NAEYC, and licensing requirements
- Develop and execute weekly lesson plans supporting all areas of child development
- Supervise, coach, and support assistant teachers and classroom staff
- Conduct child assessments, maintain accurate records, and communicate progress with families
- Partner with families to support engagement, communication, and smooth transitions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support children with IEPs or individualized needs
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements, including mandated reporting
- Maintain an organized, engaging classroom that reflects children’s learning and development
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuous quality improvement efforts
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in early childhood education or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
- Minimum 2 years of early childhood teaching experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to model professionalism and best practices
- Sound judgment, organization, and ability to manage priorities; basic technology proficiency required
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and early childhood best practices
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. as needed
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Early Childhood Education or related field with 12+ ECE credits
- Bilingual skills a plus
