Lead Talend Developer

Duration: 10+ months
Location: On-site 3-4 days/week in Columbus, OH

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Talend Developer with strong expertise in MicroStrategy development and enterprise data integration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and developing reporting solutions, dashboards, and semantic data models while integrating data from multiple enterprise platforms. This role requires excellent analytical skills, strong SQL expertise, and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver scalable Business Intelligence solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, scorecards, and analytics solutions.
• Develop and manage MicroStrategy objects including metrics, filters, prompts, templates, consolidations, transformations, and custom groups.
• Build dynamic dashboards with KPI visualizations, trend analysis, and executive reporting.
• Implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) using MicroStrategy Object Manager.
• Optimize SQL queries and improve reporting performance.
• Design semantic layers, dimensional models, star schemas, and snowflake schemas.
• Develop and maintain attributes, facts, dimensions, transformations, grids, and dashboards.
• Integrate MicroStrategy with enterprise databases, cloud data warehouses, and flat-file data sources.
• Utilize MicroStrategy REST APIs for automation and integration.
• Support ETL and data integration processes using Talend.
• Leverage Python (or Java/R) for advanced data processing and automation when needed.
• Collaborate with business users, data engineers, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable BI solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, and ensure high-quality data delivery.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with MicroStrategy
• 4+ years of experience with Talend
• Strong SQL development and query optimization
• Experience building enterprise reporting and dashboard solutions
• Data modeling and dimensional modeling expertise
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
