Roles & Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across environments
- Design and manage highly available and resilient Linux infrastructure
- Perform advanced system administration including kernel tuning, patching, and upgrades
- Automate system provisioning, configuration, and deployment using tools like Ansible
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal uptime
- Implement and enforce system security (SELinux, firewalls, access control, hardening)
- Manage storage (LVM, NFS, SAN) and file systems
- Administer user access, authentication (LDAP/AD integration), and identity management
- Work with DevOps and cloud teams on hybrid/cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery processes
- Ensure compliance with security standards (ISO, SOC2, CIS benchmarks)
- Create and maintain documentation, SOPs, and system architecture diagrams
- Mentor junior administrators and provide technical leadership
Professional & Technical Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration
- Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9)
- Deep knowledge of: Linux internals (process management, memory, file systems), Shell scripting (Bash), and automation
- System performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Experience with: Configuration management tools (Ansible must, Terraform), Monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana), Virtualization (VMware/KVM), Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, SSH)
- OS hardening, Patch management and vulnerability remediation, SSH hardening and access control
Preferred Certifications
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) (must)
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) (preferred)
- Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) (highly desirable)
