Lead Surgical Technologist

Role: Surgical Technologist responsible for supporting invasive surgical procedures under medical and nursing supervision. Key Responsibilities Facilitate safe, sterile, and effective surgical operations by applying aseptic techniques, managing instruments, supplies, and equipment.Assist in advanced operative procedures, provide orientation and training, and maintain specialized equipment.Serve as a preceptor for staff and students, model best practices, and stay current with complex procedures and technology.Prepare clinical areas, perform instrument counts, assist with medication administration within sterile fields, and communicate effectively.Manage inventory, supplies, sterilization processes, and ensure compliance with safety standards.Participate in educational opportunities and quality safety programs, contributing to departmental metrics. Qualifications & Skills High School Diploma or GED, with Surgical Technology certification required.Minimum of 3 years of surgical technology experience.Certifications: CST, CSA, or CSFA, and BLS certification.Knowledge of sterile techniques, instrument sets, sterilization, and equipment troubleshooting.Strong communication, teamwork, and educational skills. Additional Duties: Ensure compliance with policies, assist in inventory management, and support department initiatives. The role emphasizes mentorship, technical expertise, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
