About the role

We are seeking a Lead Staff Accountant to join our dynamic corporate finance team. This role requires a combination of analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping others succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Master the Reconciliations: Drive accuracy and integrity in monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Navigate Complex Data: Investigate and resolve discrepancies in high-volume general ledger data.
  • Drive the Close: Work closely with the accounting manager and team to ensure an efficient and accurate monthly close process.
  • Streamline and Optimize: Identify and implement improvements in internal controls and workflow efficiency.
  • Support the Big Picture: Assist with annual corporate audits, coordinate field testing, and prepare tax-related schedules.
  • Mentor and Lead: Provide guidance and support to junior staff accountants, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 5 to 8 years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience, preferably in a high-volume corporate or enterprise setting.
  • Advanced technical proficiency with Excel and experience working with major enterprise resource planning systems (Acumatica preferred).
  • The ability to quickly adapt to new business models and understand complex data streams independently.
  • A strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to communicate effectively across various departments.

Qualifications

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, and VBA.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems (Acumatica preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
