About the role
The Lead Licensed Social Worker provides advanced clinical leadership, direct client care, and case management oversight within the program at the Atlanta Mission. Serving over 1000 men, women, and children daily, this role combines hands-on client support with team leadership, quality assurance, and collaboration across disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical guidance and consultation to social work staff and case managers.
- Support onboarding, training, and mentorship of new team members.
- Review case plans and documentation for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Model ethical and professional social work standards and boundaries.
- Aid leadership in developing and refining program practices and protocols.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized, goal-oriented case plans.
- Provide direct case management, crisis intervention, and stabilization services.
- Maintain a reduced caseload of higher-acuity or complex cases.
- Partner with intake specialists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.
- Participate in case conferences and interdisciplinary care planning.
- Coordinate care with external providers and community partners.
- Connect clients to housing, healthcare, employment, legal, and public benefits resources.
- Advocate for client access to services and removal of systemic barriers.
- Build and maintain relationships with community agencies.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant client records.
- Track outcomes and contribute to program reporting and data collection.
- Ensure documentation meets licensing, funding, and organizational standards.
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups and workshops on life skills, housing navigation, and job readiness.
- Support development of curriculum and group content.
- Build rapport and foster a strengths-based, trauma-informed environment.
- Encourage client self-sufficiency, goal setting, and accountability.
- Support a safe, structured, and welcoming environment for clients.
- Aid in de-escalation and behavioral support when needed.
- Collaborate with program staff to maintain consistent client expectations.
- Stay current on evidence-based practices, ethics, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in ongoing trainings and professional development.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Active GA state licensure as an LCSW, LMSW.
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- 3–5+ years of social work or case management experience, preferably in crisis, shelter, or community-based settings.
- Prior experience providing clinical guidance or informal supervision strongly preferred.
- Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
- Knowledge of community resources, housing systems, and public benefits.
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with direct service.
- Trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach to care.
- Physical Job Requirements: Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, walking and sitting), stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs.
- Environmental Job Requirements: Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions during events and moderate noise as in a business office environment.
