Lead Slot Project Technician

About the role

At Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, Nevada, you will plan and coordinate all slot-floor projects and perform repairs and maintenance on casino slot machines, including ordering and installing parts. The role requires excellent customer service, initiative, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues (e.g., button and bill-validator problems) within one month.
  • Replace all peripheral machine components within two months.
  • Troubleshoot major machine issues within one year.
  • Explain games and jackpot payouts to guests with strong floor presence and exceptional guest service.
  • Maintain slot-machine operation with minimal downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimum performance.
  • Assist Slot Floor personnel as requested by Slot Shift Managers or Assistant Slot Managers.
  • Perform software conversions and slot-machine moves as directed by the Slot Performance Manager.
  • Carry out other incidental and related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two-year electronics/technical degree or equivalent experience with electronic components.
  • Minimum three years of Slot Technician experience with slot machines in a casino environment.

Work Environment

The role is on-site at the casino, interfacing regularly with internal and external customers, team members, and vendors. The schedule varies and may include evenings, weekends, and Sundays based on operational needs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to:

  • Stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Talk and hear.
  • Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
