Lead Officer
Perform the duties of a Security Officer in accordance with post orders, company policies, and client requirements.
Serve as a visible leader in the galleries, setting professional standards and providing guidance to officers on duty.
- Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle, checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, and unauthorized persons.
- Protect evidence or the scene of an incident, set up barriers or signage, and provide direction or information as needed.
- Observe and report suspicious activity or incidents to client representatives, management, or public safety authorities.
- Ensure all property removal is conducted within policy and according to client standards.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs or reports of daily activities and incidents.
- Provide courteous and professional service to all visitors and staff, representing both Securitas and The Clark Art Institute with integrity.
Access Control and Site Security
- Control access to the facility through the admittance process, verifying and assisting visitors with legitimate business needs.
- Monitor entrances and exits to prevent unauthorized access or unlawful activity.
- Manage movement of people and vehicles, including gate operations, vehicle inspections, and parking control.
- Operate remote access devices and monitor entrances using CCTV.
- Address disturbances calmly and professionally, directing individuals to leave the property when necessary.
- Control Room Operations: Learn and proficiently perform all duties of the Control Room Officer.
- Maintain control room workstations and ensure all equipment is properly operational.
- Monitor and manage access control, CCTV systems, and alarm systems; ensure accurate responses, thorough investigations, and documentation of events.
- Safeguard the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of all information in accordance with company and client policies.
- Maintain detailed logs of monitored activities and assist management with processing digital viewing requests for evidential or investigative purposes.
Emergency Response
- Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents including fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, hazardous materials, elevator emergencies, and severe weather.
- Follow all established site, company, and training procedures for emergency situations.
Leadership, Administrative, and Supervisory Responsibilities
- Reporting & Investigations: Prepare, revise, and submit reports and presentations on investigations, incidents, losses, or policy violations; track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and training requirements.
- Team Coaching & Development: Coach and mentor security personnel; meet regularly with officers and document performance; assess officer skills and performance; prepare written evaluations and recommend improvements; inspect posts as scheduled, outlining expectations and responsibilities for subordinates; communicate effectively with team members, management, and the client to ensure operational needs are met.
- Training & Onboarding: Implement and facilitate training in key areas of security operations, including post assignments and event coverage; identify training needs and collaborate with management to develop relevant programs; assist with onboarding new hires, assigning and tracking required training.
Qualifications and Requirements

- Understanding of Securitas policies and procedures at The Clark Art Institute.
- Valid Driver’s Certification.

- Able to multitask and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Flexibility to work second and third shifts as needed.
Minimum Hiring Standards
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a reliable means of communication (phone or pager).
- Must have a reliable means of transportation.
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior security, law enforcement, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment screening, including background investigation and drug screening.
