LEAD Scholars Program - Quarterly Lecturer

Santa Clara University’s LEAD Scholars Program, a Jesuit Catholic initiative, invites applications for a temporary Quarterly Lecturer to teach three lower-division 2-unit seminars during the 2026–27 academic year.

Courses

• Advanced LEAD Seminar (Fall 2026) – Equips transfer students with the navigational skills to transition and succeed at their new institution.
• Success in Work and Life (Winter 2027) – Provides an overview of networking and negotiating.
• Exploring Medical and Health Vocations (Winter 2027) – Surveys various medical and public-health careers.
• Exploring Graduate School (Spring 2027) – Covers graduate-school research, application processes, and funding for first-generation college students.
• Exploring Mission-Driven Vocations (Spring 2027) – Introduces careers in non-profit and other social-benefit organizations and develops skills to secure opportunities in these fields.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in non-profit administration, counseling, higher education, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years’ experience working in the non-profit or social-benefits sector.

Responsibilities

• Teach one assigned LEAD seminar (LEAD 101, LEAD 16, LEAD 18, LEAD 20, or LEAD 22) during the designated quarter of the 2026–27 academic year.
• Conduct all scheduled class meetings and individual student conferences.
• Assign, evaluate, and provide feedback on student work, including exams and written assignments.
• Maintain weekly on-campus office hours.
• Submit final grades to the Office of the Registrar by the published deadline.
• Administer numerical and narrative course evaluations as directed by the department chair.
• Perform additional instructional or academic duties assigned by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences or the Program Director.

Pay

$4,920 per 2-unit quarter course.

Employment is governed by the collective-bargaining agreement between Santa Clara University and SEIU Local 1021. Telecommute arrangements must be performed within California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, or Illinois.
