Responsibilities

  • Prepare and conduct all assigned class meetings.
  • Develop and administer course assignments, examinations, and assessments.
  • Evaluate and grade student work in a timely manner.
  • Hold office hours and be available for student consultation outside of class.
  • Submit final grades by university deadlines.
  • Complete departmental and accreditation-related assessment activities as required.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. Degree in Mathematics or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, specifically in Statistics.

Qualifications

  • Appointments are made on a quarterly basis.
  • The first day of instruction for the 2026–2027 academic year is: Fall 2026 – Monday, September 21, 2026, Winter 2027 – Monday, January 4, 2027, Spring 2027 – Monday, March 29, 2027, Summer 2027 – Monday, June 21, 2027.

Skills

  • Ability to teach a variety of courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Benefits

  • Undergraduate Courses: 4-unit lecture = 1.0 CE, 1-unit lab = 0.25 CE, 1-unit lab without a teaching assistant = 0.5 CE.
  • Graduate Courses: 4-unit lecture = 1.0 CE, 2-unit lecture = 0.66 CE.

Pay

  • $10,948.00 per Course Equivalent (CE).

Schedule

  • Courses are typically held at various times during the week, including 7:10AM - 9:00AM, 5:10PM - 7:00PM, 7:10PM - 9:00PM time slots.
