Responsibilities

  • Supervises, performs and/or acts as the resource person for all diagnostic procedures and Respiratory Therapy procedures as outlined in respiratory therapist job description.
  • Acts as a resource person and adviser for all other units where Respiratory Therapists are employed or where respiratory therapy procedures are performed by other competent, cross-trained caregivers.
  • Communicates to the department manager any suggestions, information and/or problems associated with the administrative, clinical and/or technical management of departmental operations.
  • Monitors staff performance. Lends assistance as needed and ensures proper recording of services performed and generates charges appropriately.
  • Provides direct patient care consistent with the caseload and schedule demands under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager.
  • Delivers modalities of respiratory therapy, emergent and intensive respiratory care, and diagnostic procedures.

Requirements

  • Current State Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Required experience in a level 3 NICU or greater >2 years.
  • Preferred experience in neonatal transport.
  • 5 years of verifiable experience.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • PALS, NRP, Blood Gas Technologist certified within 90 days.
  • NICU experience, 2 years or more preferred.
