About the role

This role is for a Lead Project Manager within Marsh's Program Delivery team, based in New York. The role is hybrid, requiring at least three days a week in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage highly complex, broad, and/or multi-year projects end-to-end to deliver business outcomes, ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Develops detailed, robust, high-quality project plans including resources, scope, schedule, cost, assumptions, dependencies, etc. for large scale, complex projects.
  • Recognize the impact of any scope change and how that may affect tasks and assignments in the future and adjust project plans and communicate accordingly.
  • Acts as the first responder to risk, exposures, delays etc. to projects and acts quickly either directly or by notifying supervisors or potential pitfalls and recommends solutions.
  • Works closely within high visibility projects and regularly interfaces with internal senior management and client executive level personnel, as well as identifies global subject matter experts on the project at hand.
  • Identify resource requirements with responsible management when faced with conflicts in priorities.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert in the project functionality being provided, the business domain being served, and the project planning tools used.
  • Delegates work to and guides professional and support staff, ensuring adherence to departmental standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in program management. Preferably within large, complex organisations.
  • Relevant project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2, required.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale global programs/projects across multiple regions and stakeholders.
  • Managing projects involving multi million budgets, costs and savings initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, including project components, phases, deliverables, dependencies and governance.
  • Able to critically evaluate, challenge and clearly articulate the value and impact of proposed solutions and project outcomes.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Highly adaptable, resilient and comfortable working within dynamic, rapidly changing global business environments.

Pay

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Schedule

All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.
