About the role
As a Lead Principal Engineer Applications in our Customer Collaboration and Technical Marketing team, you will work hand-in-hand with our customers, enabling them to transform our products into cutting-edge designs while building long-lasting partnerships that thrive on success.
Responsibilities
- Develop MCU product definitions addressing diverse markets, customers, applications, and partners with inclusive go-to-market strategies.
- Responsible for right-fit product requirements and technical interface to R&D and customers during the creation phase.
- Define, assess, and own Product Requirements (PRQs) derived from Application and Stakeholder Requirements.
- Support feasibility studies and review concept/product architecture.
- Support internal verification processes and collaborate with customers on prototype validation.
- Provide and review technical content for the product roadmap.
- Provide training and handover to Application Engineering.
- Collaborate with sales, business development, engineering, project management, and corporate marketing teams to guide product execution, priorities, and delivery.
- Work closely with global sales to engage customers and design-in MCU-based solutions.
- Develop and deliver marketing content including competitive positioning, product updates, sales trainings, webinars, whitepapers, etc.
- Periodic domestic and international travel required to global sites and key customers.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in microcontroller or microprocessor product marketing or engineering role.
- Demonstrated ability to define and deliver successful products to markets.
- Strong focus on delivering results to plan.
- Ability to engage customers at executive and engineering levels.
- Solid understanding and proven track record of product definition and requirement processes.
- Strong knowledge of embedded systems, including software and tools.
- Awareness of market and competition for processors and connectivity solutions.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and positively influence colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, proactive, adaptable, organized, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of system architecture of MCU-based consumer, industrial, and connectivity systems.
- Strong understanding of edge compute requirements (power/performance, memory, accelerators where applicable, latency, on-device ML/analytics considerations).
- This position requires access to documentation controlled by U.S. export laws. Candidates must provide proof of either U.S. citizenship, Permanent U.S. residency, or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b(a)(3).
Pay
Location indicative salary ranges for qualified candidates:
- San Jose, CA: US$ 205,000 – US$ 281,900 (hourly rate depends on highest level of education completed).
- El Segundo, CA: US$ 178,200 – US$ 245,100 (hourly rate depends on highest level of education completed).
- Austin, TX: US$ 178,200 – US$ 245,100 (hourly rate depends on highest level of education completed).
