Lead Platform Support Engineer
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). We should include sections only when posting has real specific content. So we can have:
- About the role (maybe combine Getting to know the Team and description)
- Responsibilities (What You Will Get To Do)
- Requirements / Qualifications (What you will bring + Required Skills & Qualifications)
- Benefits (Why You Will Love It Here! + benefits paragraph)
- Pay (salary range)
- Schedule? Not mentioned explicitly; only hybrid work model, flexibility, but not schedule specifics. Could omit Schedule section.
We must not repeat job title as heading. No Job ID etc. Remove boilerplate: EEO, unsolicited resumes note, etc. Also remove application instructions (Applications will be accepted...). Also remove legal/EEO.
We must preserve all substantive information. So include details about team, responsibilities, required skills, benefits, pay.
We need to use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. So for responsibilities list, we should make
. For requirements list also . For benefits list also . Use for prose.
We must not invent or summarize away detail. Keep specifics.
Let's extract content.
From posting:
- Company intro: SS&C is a leading provider... (maybe not needed as substantive? It's about company, could be part of About the role? Might be considered boilerplate? It's descriptive but not required? Probably keep as part of About the role.
- Getting to know the Team: description of Private Markets Technology organization, AUA, initiatives, Application Support Team responsibilities.
- Why You Will Love It Here!: bullet list of flexibility, future, work/life balance, wellbeing, wide ranging perspectives, training, extra perks.
- What You Will Get To Do: list of responsibilities (oversee day-to-day operations, lead/mentor team, collaborate, platform runs across containerized and VM estates, etc). Many bullet-like sentences.
- What you will bring: list of qualifications/experience.
- Required Skills & Qualifications: long list.
We need to combine What you will bring and Required Skills & Qualifications into Requirements/Qualifications section.
We must not create sections with filler like "commensurate with experience". Pay section: we have salary range for New Jersey: 180k-190k USD. Also mention discretionary bonus/equity awards. So we can include Pay section with that.
Benefits section: include medical, dental, vision, 401k match, PTO, sick leave, paid holidays, parental leave, professional development reimbursement, extra perks (discounts on fitness clubs, travel, etc), hybrid work model, business casual dress code.
Schedule: not explicit; we could omit.

About the role
SS&C is a leading provider of mission-critical, AI-powered technology and services empowering financial services and healthcare organizations to work smarter, faster, and securely. Founded in 1986, SS&C is headquartered in Windsor, Connecticut, and has offices worldwide. More than 23,000 financial services and healthcare organizations rely on SS&C for expertise, scale, and technology.
The SS&C Private Markets Technology organization supports the world’s largest Fund Administration Business with nearly $1T in Assets Under Administration (AUA). We’ve recently embarked on multiple multi-year initiatives to enhance our existing processing capabilities and develop entirely new next-generation platforms that automate, scale, and enhance our industry-leading business to drive growth, service efficiency, and client engagement through technology. The Application Support Team is responsible for enhancing and managing a “best-in-class,” global 24x7 application and user support model, which is appropriate for the growing global footprint of the SS&C Private Markets business. This entails ongoing support process reviews and enhancements, continuous assessment and improvement of our monitoring processes, and the use of effective troubleshooting techniques to provide a reliable, robust, and effective technology operating environment for the SS&C Private Markets business.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of our platform, ensuring system performance, availability, and reliability.
- Lead and mentor a team of platform support engineers, acting as a technical leader and key point of contact for resolving complex issues.
- Collaborate with Development resources, DevOps Engineers, and members of our Product Teams to ensure smooth platform operation and support the deployment of new features.
- Work fluently with modern AI-assisted engineering tooling as part of daily practice — using it to accelerate troubleshooting, automation, and documentation without compromising rigor or change discipline.
- Spend a limited portion of time on hands-on DevOps engineering work in partnership with Product Development and DevOps teams — building and refining the deployment automation you also operate.
- Act as the escalation point for high-priority incidents, troubleshoot complex platform issues, and manage incident resolution to minimize downtime.
- Monitor platform performance and proactively identify and resolve potential issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability; extend and maintain observability coverage — metrics, logs, distributed traces, and service-level indicators — across the estate.
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis for recurring issues, implementing permanent fixes, and improving platform stability.
- Work closely with product, engineering, and DevOps teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve platform-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, streamline support processes, and reduce manual interventions.
- Maintain classic and YAML-based Azure DevOps Release Pipelines and GitHub Actions workflows, ensuring robust CI/CD processes are in place.
- Operate and maintain Argo CD–based GitOps delivery, including application and ApplicationSet definitions, sync policies, drift detection and remediation, and promotion across environments with Git as the declarative source of truth.
- Support and troubleshoot containerized workloads on Kubernetes — workload scheduling, resource limits, autoscaling, ingress and service networking, persistent storage, secrets, and cluster upgrade and patching cycles.
- Manage reviews and deployments of Terraform (custom provider environment) and SaltStack states to ensure consistency and efficiency in infrastructure management.
- Use AI coding and operations assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, or equivalent) in day-to-day work to accelerate scripting, automation, log and incident analysis, and documentation; review and validate all AI-generated output before it reaches a pipeline or production system and help establish team practices and guardrails for responsible use.
- Oversee and enforce the Change Control process, ensuring all platform updates, infrastructure changes, and deployments follow established approval workflows, risk assessments, and rollback strategies to maintain system stability and compliance.
- Maintain detailed documentation of platform issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions; provide regular reports on platform health, incident trends, and support KPIs to senior management.
- Coordinate the planning and execution of application/infrastructure releases and configuration changes.
- Spend a limited portion of your time on hands-on DevOps engineering alongside the Product Development and DevOps teams: defining and implementing automated system installation and configuration procedures across virtualized and private-cloud infrastructure, enhancing existing build and release pipelines, managing capacity and scalability, and evolving deployment architecture to follow emerging best practices.
