Lead Mobile Engineer, Android (Enterprise Platforms Technology)

Responsibilities
- Develop Android client code solutions that deliver on product strategy and adhere to established engineering best practices, design guidelines, and principles.
- Partner with Software Engineers, UX/UI, Quality Engineers, Product Owners/Analysts to deliver high-performing, quality customer experiences that are engaging, purposeful, and powerful in their simplicity.
- Participate actively in all team agile ceremonies, ensuring all team commitments are delivered on time and of the highest quality.
- Actively participate in internal and external developer communities, advocating for the mobile platform.
- Remain an active learner in all technologies related to mobile development, including Kotlin, Swift, and third-party libraries.
- Influence and contribute to group discussions and incorporate feedback/communication from the broader team.
- Mentor junior to mid-level members of the team.
- Engage with developers outside of the local sprint team across various disciplines (Android, iOS, APIs, Web, etc.).
- Own and lead delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with senior engineers and Architects.
- Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across sprint teams.
- Identify technical obstacles early and work closely with the team to find creative solutions.
- Review pull requests and ensure adherence to Kotlin and other language idioms.
- Grow and provide SME level leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience
- At least 3 years of experience building Android applications
- At least 3 years of experience with Kotlin
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- 5+ years of experience building Android applications
- 4+ years of experience with Kotlin
- 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
- 2+ years of experience with Agile practices
- Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity, utilizing capabilities beyond basic code completion

Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
- Chicago, IL: $179,400 - $204,700 for Lead Software Engineer
- McLean, VA: $197,300 - $225,100 for Lead Software Engineer
- New York, NY: $215,200 - $245,600 for Lead Software Engineer
