Join us as a Capital One Android Software Engineer and be part of a dynamic team driving innovation and transformation within Capital One. Our platform is key to reaching our customers in personalized and engaging ways across various devices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Android client code solutions that align with product strategy and engineering best practices
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, UX/UI designers, Quality Engineers, and Product Owners/Analysts to deliver high-quality, engaging customer experiences
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies and ensure timely delivery of high-quality work
  • Influence and contribute to the mobile platform community through participation in internal and external developer events
  • Stay updated on mobile development technologies (Kotlin, Swift, 3rd party libraries) and share knowledge with the team
  • Mentor junior to mid-level team members and lead the delivery of major components and platform needs
  • Engage with developers across various disciplines and lead cross-functional projects
  • Identify and address technical challenges, working collaboratively with the team to find solutions
  • Review pull requests and ensure adherence to Kotlin and other language idioms
  • Grow as a SME leader and contribute to process improvement within the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience
  • At least 3 years of experience building Android applications
  • At least 3 years of experience with Kotlin

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience building Android applications
  • 4+ years of experience with Kotlin
  • 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks
  • 2+ years of experience with Agile practices
  • Experience leveraging interactive AI tools for productivity

Pay

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role vary by location:

  • Chicago, IL: $179,400 - $204,700 for Lead Software Engineer
  • McLean, VA: $197,300 - $225,100 for Lead Software Engineer
  • New York, NY: $215,200 - $245,600 for Lead Software Engineer
