LEAD MILITARY PAY TECHNICIAN.

This position requires U.S. citizenship, a favorable suitability review, and a security clearance due to its national security nature. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must be registered for Selective Service. Candidates must have served 3 months after their latest competitive federal appointment and meet time-in-grade requirements. Responsibilities

• Serve as Work Leader by providing individual and team training in specific tasks and job techniques, including on-the-job training in accordance with established procedures and practices.
• Identify, distribute, and balance workload and tasks among team members following established workflow to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned work.
• Make day-to-day adjustments to workload distribution in accordance with established priorities.
• Provide updates to the supervisor on work progress and identify training needs of the team.
• Resolve simple, informal employee complaints and refer other issues to the supervisor.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level, demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes:
  • Reviewing work for technical adequacy and compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Processing complex military pay debt audits, determining debt calculations, and verifying documents for propriety, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Providing technical support on standard procedures to coworkers.
• Obtain and maintain a Level 1 Certification under the DoD Financial Management (FM) Certification Program within two years of employment. Failure to certify may result in removal from the position or Federal service.

Qualifications

GS-07 level qualifications may also be met through:

• One full year of graduate-level education directly related to the position, or
• An equivalent combination of graduate-level education and experience. Transcripts must be submitted if using education to qualify.
