LEAD MEDICAL COORDINATOR

About the role

As a Lead Medical Coordinator, you will oversee medical services for unaccompanied children (UAC) across two program locations in Bethlehem and Doylestown, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct health screenings for newly admitted UACs within required timeframes.
  • Oversee medication administration and management at both program locations.
  • Monitor ongoing medical needs and maintain confidential health records.
  • Coordinate with external medical, dental, and public health providers.
  • Respond to urgent health concerns and medical emergencies.
  • Travel between program office locations to maintain consistent medical oversight.
  • Provide staff training on medical, dental, and public health topics relevant to pediatric, adolescent, and migrant health.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for confidential health record management, triage of health concerns, medical emergency response, environmental health and safety, and post-release health care planning.
  • Participate in ORR-required monthly and quarterly status meetings.
  • Support continuation application preparation related to health services.
  • Exercise independent judgment consistent with program policy, ORR requirements, and applicable law.
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with children, families, and staff.
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and respond promptly to program needs, including outside standard business hours when required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s degree; OR a higher health-related qualification (e.g., Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner).
  • Current, unrestricted Pennsylvania RN licensure.
  • Minimum of 1 year of employment in public health or a healthcare setting with demonstrated experience in care coordination, health administration, or direct clinical care.
  • Reliable transportation required for travel between program sites.
  • Must exhibit integrity and good moral character appropriate for working with children in a residential or foster care setting.
  • Must successfully complete ORR-required background investigations.
  • Must provide proof of immunity for vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route (Varicella, MMR, Tdap, annual Influenza) and comply with all state licensing health screening requirements including TB screening.
  • Must complete all ORR-required pre-service trainings and annual continuing education covering applicable ORR regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Must sign and comply with CHOR’s Code of Conduct, confidentiality acknowledgment, and mandatory reporter agreement.
  • Must disclose any prior misconduct, including off-duty conduct, on employment applications and in interviews. Material omissions are grounds for termination.

Schedule

  • Full-Time / Exempt
  • Based across two work locations: Bethlehem and Doylestown. Travel between both offices is required as necessary and assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a meeting table or desk, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach, twist, stoop, climb steps, drive a vehicle, and assist individuals as needed.
