Responsibilities
- Serves as a teacher, trainer, and mentor for new staff.
- Orients staff in front office processes, use of office software/information systems and laboratory processes.
- Trains and orients Medical Office Assistants in back office procedures and duties.
- Makes sure front and back office processes are standardized and followed.
- Manages MA work schedules and evaluates supply usage and costs.
- Notifies management about cost-saving methods and oversees expired medication logs and supply ordering.
- Performs a variety of front office duties such as reception, telephone, data entry, chart maintenance, scheduling, and lab quality control.
- Prepares treatment rooms for examinations and assists the physician/clinician during exams and special procedures.
Requirements
- One or more years of medical assistant experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPC).
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification (optional, but reimbursable).
Qualifications
- Experience in an occupational/community healthcare clinic setting.
- Ability to perform a variety of support duties including reception, telephone, scheduling, data input, supply ordering, and supply inventory.
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and laboratory processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
