Lead Medical Assistant/MA - Primary Care Clinic

Job Overview

Fairview is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant to join their Highland Park team in St. Paul, MN. This position is approved for 80 hours every two weeks and is benefit-eligible.

Clinic Hours

Clinic Hours of Operation are Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. This position also qualifies for up to a $2000 New Hire Sign-on Bonus.

Responsibilities

• Gathers information and documents to support the patient visit.
• Adheres to all policies, procedures, and practice guidelines.
• Promotes teamwork with all members of the healthcare team.
• Maintains complete, timely, and accurate clinical documentation for each patient.
• Continually looks for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.
• Covers for sick calls and assigns breaks.
• Makes daily work assignments and adjusts them to meet department requirements.
• Resolves operational issues, including provider issues.
• Ensures adequate inventory of supplies is maintained by serving as a liaison to supply chain.
• Coordinates staff orientation and training.
• Provides observations and assists with testing for competency regarding performance, conduct, and behavior for performance management.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Promotes a team-centered environment within the department, other site departments, and other clinics.
• Serves as a clinic representative at peer groups or other meetings as assigned.
• Attends clinic meetings and communicates appropriate information to others.
• Leads by example.
• Solves problems and works on projects.
• Motivates and encourages employees.
• Serves as a mentor within the department.
• Supports organizational initiatives.
• Safeguards a safe work environment.
• Maintains safety policies and practices.
• May serve as an Infection Control or Safety Liaison.
• Ensures equipment is in working order and completes quality control logs as needed.
• Assists in patient feedback or concerns by investigating issues.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• 2-3 years of experience in a functional area is preferred.

Compensation

The compensation for this role may vary based on various factors including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. The maximum of the range is not typical. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer will be honored.
