Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records, and clinical data.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrates competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including vital signs, minor treatments/procedures, prevention services, pre-visit planning, post-visit follow-up, and medication refills per protocol.
  • Promotes, advocates, and collaborates to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
  • Provides patient and family education through assessment of health literacy, barriers to learning, readiness, needs, and ability.
  • Encourages patient engagement in healthcare partnership using motivational interviewing, evidence-based self-management support protocols, tools, and teach-back methodology.
  • Aids in the coordination of the patient’s care plan.
  • Recognizes the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient’s preferences, values, and needs.
  • Provides relationship-based care, understanding what is most important to the individual and actively engaging them in all aspects of care.
  • Contributes to continuous process improvement by taking an active role in patient experience and satisfaction.
  • Oversees clinic staff as assigned, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, preparing work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing, resolving clinical operational problems, managing clinical supply ordering and expenses, and conducting performance reviews.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficient in the use of technology software, including EHR
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high patient volume environment
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrates professional development through further education, maintaining certifications, and seeking leadership/preceptor opportunities
  • Ability to perform data entry, prepare reports, and possess knowledge of medical terminology, clinical documentation, exam procedures, and protocols
  • Exemplary customer service skills, knowledge of charge entry, payment collection, posting, and clinical/surgical billing requirements
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a computer, copier, fax, and scanner
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and others of diverse backgrounds
  • Shows initiative in creating solutions and demonstrates sound judgment in emergency situations
  • Education: High School Grad or Equiv
  • Work Experience: 3+ years of related work experience
  • Licenses And Certifications: Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS), American Association Medical Assistants (CMA), OR Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC), OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), OR National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)

Qualifications
